How Do I Prevent My Carburetor From Stalling When I’m Climbing Uphill??

Difficulty: Low
Cost: N/A
Time Required: N/A
Special Items Needed: Right Foot

When climbing a steep hill with a carburated Jeep (BBD) there is a tendency for the Jeep to flood out and die. I have found a method that can help you from stalling at the worst possible time.

Floor it!

Seriously when the engine begins to die if you put the pedal to the floor, you will let more air in the carb to compensate for the gas that is pouring down the throat, it would seem as though you would speed out of control but that is not the case, your engine will bog and chug, but it will pull you up and over!
